  • Thursday Night 9 Hole League – Week 15 Recap

The standings have been updated on
the Thursday Night 9 Hole league page.

REMINDER: 8/29 is a 5:00PM shotgun start. That means you will be teeing off on your assigned hole at 5:00PM so arrive by 4:30PM. Apologies in advance to the team that has to play against Trevor since we all know he will arrive sometime after 5PM.

It’s championship night and there’s a showdown for the Division 2 title. The Dwyer brothers are going into the match with a narrow 3-point lead over Bergquist/Bergquist/Kaelin. See Dave Strackbein before the round for odds and to place your bets before the match.

Do Gary O. and Chris “Killer” Gissal have Division 1 wrapped up with a commanding 7.5 point lead? Or can Westerman/Long/Larsen/Tsoris pull off a miracle comeback victory? Vachuska/Halverson and Strackbein/Wurster also have a chance for 2nd place in the division and will be fighting over 2nd/3rd place as well.

Last but not least, the race for the bottom and possible relegation. It seems like half of Division 1 has been fighting for the chance to move to Division 2 next year.

    Best of the worst:
    Oakes/Noonan/Jahnke/Olander
    Holzem/Pulvermacher
    Sanfelippo/Metzger

    On the bubble:
    Sams/Seider/Klein
    Hensel/Koppelman

    Relegation Watch:
    O’Connor/Schuette
    McCabe/McCabe/Knecht
    Sujecki/Rickertsen

    6 & Under Skins
    Karl Metzger – $75

    7 & Over Skins
Joe McCabe – $30 ( Your envelope is all $1 bills as a penalty for not filling out the back of your scorecard)
    Ron Bergquist $30

    Flag Events Winners ($15)
    #4 – Chris Gissal
    #6 – Bob Klingelhoets
    #8 – Austin Rickertsen
    #11 – Kevin Dwyer
    #13 – Jeff O’Connor
    #17 – Ron Bergquist

    Anyone want a Promotion???

We don’t want to overlook the battle for the top 3 spots in Division 2 so we will go through it first this week!   I don’t think I’m going out on a limb here to proclaim that at least 2 of teams earning promotion this year will have players with the same last name.  The top 3 teams put 14.5, 12, and 11.5 point beatdowns on their opponents last week so they are fully locked in on the goal!  Only 2.5 points separate 3rd through 6th so these next 2 weeks are critical! That gimme circle is going to be the same size as Jim Ehnert’s hat…. well maybe not even that big.

Reminder: End of season tiebreaker is the total of team points scored in week 16.

    1st – Dwyer/Dwyer (140.5 pts)
    2nd – Bergquist/Bergquist/Kaelin (140.0 pts)
    3rd – Nemec/Nemec (133.5 pts)
    3rd – Oleson/Oleson/Reuteman/Hunt (133.5 pts)

    *** CUT LINE ****
    5th – Brockman/Mohr/Tappa/Roedell (131.0 pts)
    5th – Goodman/Stauff/Jones/Kocen (131.0 pts)
