This page will detail Wednesday / Thursday night league scoring.  We will be using a sample match of Dave Strackbein/Barry Wurster vs. Joe Vachuska/Alex Cherney.  Alex is going to be a  substitute on Joe’s team in place of Todd Halverson.

Step 1: Determine handicaps for all participants in the match based on the tee box each player is playing from.  9 Hole league handicaps are calculated off of WSGA handicap. There is a link to the current handicap page on the Wednesday and Thursday Night league pages.

Players without a league handicap will have their handicaps determined after the match based on the score of their round. Click here to see the 9 Hole League First Night Handicap chart.

The lowest handicap on each team will play each other, and the remaining players matched against each other. In the event two players on the same team have the same handicap, the other team decides the matchups. In the case of our sample match we have;

Dave Strackbein (4) vs Joe Vachuska (6)
Barry Wurster (5) vs Alex Cherney (12)

Step 2: Select the proper scorecard.  The front/west 9 uses the white scorecards, the back/east 9 uses the blue scorecards.

Step 3: Enter names, handicap, date, and scorer information on the card. Determine players that will be receiving handicap strokes (difference in handicaps) and enter that number next to their name. Joe will be getting 2 strokes, and Alex will be getting 7 strokes.  Place dots in the upper right corner of the score entry area for the holes where a player will be receiving stroke(s). Strokes are allocated 1 at a time from the most difficult hole to the least, and starting over again at the most difficult if the number of handicap strokes is more than 9.

The scorecard should be filled out neatly, with circles around birdies and eagles in the event of skins game participation.
