Thank You

On behalf of The Ehnert family, I would like to personally thank The Members of The Wanaki Mens Club for your generous donations to the Roy Ehnert Memorials after my Dad's passing on May 31.

For those of you who don't know, our family home, built in 1959-60, overlooks the 5th green at Wanaki Golf Course. My Dad was proud to be the "first neighbor" of Wanaki as he saw construction of a golf course in his back yard from the early 1960's until Waukesha County opened the Course in 1970. Even though not a golfer, he, along with my mother, were fixtures at many Wanaki Social Events, outings, and parties. He was often at the center of the room "holding court", and represented his loyalty to Wanaki very well. They were truly a part of Wanaki History and had gotten to know many Wanaki customers through the years until they sold their home to my niece a few years ago.

An accomplished accordion player and Polka Band leader for almost 70 years of his life, his legendary backyard polka jams could be heard all over the golf course and often caused a back log on the 5th hole with players stopping to take in the entertainment. Some would even be seen hopping the fence to come up the hill, get a dance in, and have a few beers. I guess he was responsible for "slow play" on certain days throughout the years.

Your contributions to The Community Memorial Cancer Treatment Center are greatly appreciated. He battled many types of cancers through the years, and the Cancer Center was always there to help out our entire family.

Thank You to everyone and Thank You to The Wanaki Mens Club for helping remember our Father.

The Ehnert family.
